Glory Be!

Post by Artsay »

I got a new job and just put in my two weeks notice today. WOO HOOOOO!!!!!! My old job was bringing me DOWN so about 10 months ago I just started looking for something else. Finally something turned up and I can hardly believe it...here, in Lexington, a GIS Specialist position requiring my exact skill set? No way...too good to be true! It's for a reputable engineering firm too that has been around since 1966 with no layoffs to date. Supposedly they had 90 applicants for the position, selected 10 from those, and it was between me and one other person. Somehow I won. HA! Im so psyched I feel like I'm floating on air. :D

I think the best part is knowing that I don't have to hear myself complain over the same old things anymore. I think I've mentioned my favorite quote two times already on this board so I won't do it again, but basically it means: quit bitching and change the situation if you don't like it! I hate hearing myself complain...

Congratulations! Glad to hear you finally found a better job, especially still in town. I really dig the no layoffs since 1966. I hate worrying about whether I will continue to get paid next quarter.
