I use the rrgcc forum all the time, the board is always quick to answer questions there.

if you ask, they will answer

So I agree that the website is resourceful ... and hopefully this will get worked out.

Yeah. But, their website shouldn't have to be resourceful. All questions should be asked on this site and answered on this site because this is where all the real climbers hang out ready to bestow their real information for the rest of us that belive that nothing else exists on the internet except this site.

If you visit the beta version of the new RRGCC front page (http://www.rrgcc.org/new/index.php) you will notice there is a Membership tab along the top. When this feature is fully functional, you will be able to view and edit your membership information from the database online. Before everyone starts whining as to why this feature isn't available now, we are down to one volunteer working on this project with Wes being on his road trip. Anyone who would be interested in working on the RRGCC website and has solid web development skills and/or php experience can PM me. You may also provide comments on the website under the Feedback topic on the RRGCC forum.

Thanks,
Bill

Hmmm. Depends on where you're planning on kissing him.

I wonder what would happen if I started a thread about both Ro Shampo and the RRGCC.

untouchables call elitist

Post by jimmydean »

Poor poor untouchables. The only ones that call someone elitist are the ones that will never be able to touch what the so-called "elitists" do, or think about doing.

All you can do is sit there and criticize and critique, then when someone asks you what you have done lately you say you got your feelings hurt when someone wasn't nice to you because you volunteered.

Has anyone ever heard of sticktoitness?

When you offer your help once and they don't bow down at your feet because "of course they need your help", you go "wa, wa, wa all the way home". And then you say, "I'll never help them again, their ingrates."

The rrgcc has been operating for longer than most of you have been climbing. The baton has been passed and still no one is picking up the slack. Wake up people, you act like children, no one is going to give you any more responsibility than you act like you deserve.

The RRGCC does good things. Unfortunately, it is compiled of human beings. By nature we are imperfect. There are elements of the coalition I find impossible to work with as a volunteer. There are elements of the coalition that I respect more than anyone else in the climbing community. There are those in the coalition who do not repel climbers. That's a positive thing. There are others who ostracize 1/2 of the community through their repugnant behavior. I view that as a negative.
Well said

And I have been climbing for longer than the RRGCC has been around but even if I hadn't it wouldn't matter.

YOU CANNOT treat people like shit then expect them to volunteer their time and money when you ask them to. The attitude that you have jimmydean of self importance is EXACTLY why the coalition has such a bad rep.
