Post by local »

Yea i packed all my gear to climb in hawaii, one thing i forgot to do......see if there's climbing on the island i'm on! So instead of climbing rocks we tryed moutains. Me,sarah and miguel climbed Mauna Kea. Its a volcanoe with a summit of 14000. About kicked me an sarahs ass(we did summit in a record time of 4 hours up and 2 down)I will never bitch about long wall.......Miguel made it part way up but the pizza's caught up with him. took a picture check it out.

Dude, your not on the summit until you climb on top of that pile of rocks behind you. Man, I'd hate to think you spent 6 hours on the mountain and quit 3ft before the summit.
Not a bitch.

There's some nice little climbing I "discovered" at Glass Beach on Kaui, if you happen to be there. Nothing to make a trip for, but the beach itself is really cool. It used to be a dump for glass bottles in the early part of this century, and the strong waves there have ground and broken all the glass up into smooth little pieces over the last 100 years.

Artisans collect them and make little necklases to sell to tourists for $50/each.

Anyway, there's a small cliff there with some interesting looking rock. It was the only decent non-rotty rock I could find on the island.

sa-weet! sounds like you are volunteering to carry my rack up there next time!

hope you find some rocks that require hands to climb.
sounds like you are having an awesome trip!
be safe and catch you in the red sometime.
