Sa-weet! Party at Boat Rock. MM, maybe your girlfriend will feel comfortable bouldering with a group of climbers? (Boys and girls?)
I know that you believe that you understood what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

The first time I was there the place was amazing. It was a vast boulder field in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The boulders were scattered throughout a wooded area and I stumbled upon some untouched, amazing problems. Some areas were dense with boulders and some areas weren't. But overall I felt like I could walk forever and find a quality boulder problem.
Now it has changed. A large portion of the area has been destroyed for construction purposes. I went back last year and could've cried from the site of what I saw. There were bits and pieces of boulders strewn across a HUGE open construction area, like limbs of scattered life, and many areas with gorgeous boulders were roped off designating their inevitable fate. It was so sad.
From what I understand, climbers have bought the land kinda like we bought the Murray property. It's ain't no HP40 but it has its place. The comp's purpose is to support Boat Rock's existence. I think it's definitely worth supporting so go to the comp and have fun!

you can always justify a comp especially when it is meant to be a fund raiser to buy the land and save it for future climbing.
