Ganglionic cysts are pretty common if you do a lot of repetitive stuff like typing or whatnot. The music students tend to freak out when they get them since they think it means the end of their careers. Just leave it be.

Thanks for the comments and advice y'all. I was wondering what is was. I've been vigorously massaging it. It's a little sore, but it doesn't seem to affect my climbing too much. I have a theory that as long as something works, then I will keep using it.

Take some time off and while you are doing so do some

dub the broken record...

..crackling needle on record sound

yoga yoga yoga yoga yoga yoga yoga yoga

I tried physical therapy, which worked oK it consisted of some ultrasound, massage and a few excercises that weren't very effective. I haven't found a better way to systematically stretch and use muscles in "opposite" directions/ways that climbing terrorizes. Other side effects include better balance, less stress and the best one -- yoga classes are full of ---->hot women
