Thanks for the comments and advice y'all. I was wondering what is was. I've been vigorously massaging it. It's a little sore, but it doesn't seem to affect my climbing too much. I have a theory that as long as something works, then I will keep using it.

I tried physical therapy, which worked oK it consisted of some ultrasound, massage and a few excercises that weren't very effective. I haven't found a better way to systematically stretch and use muscles in "opposite" directions/ways that climbing terrorizes. Other side effects include better balance, less stress and the best one -- yoga classes are full of ---->hot women
