Ro Shampo actual rating
Hey Michelle,
are you talking about the nice hand jam just above the big hueco (on Spirit Fingers) or the slopey ledge where you have to get a ladder to hang the draw (that is a pretty damn long clip when you are pumped)? Either way that is a killer route.
If you all say CYG is 12, then that's good enough for me. I was just curious.
Also, for anyone who is sitting at their computer saying "Damn, I wish he would let this ratings thing die." I know there are a few of you that think my goal in life is to pick a fight with Johnny over his ratings but I promise it is not. My main objective in my inquiries is to find out exactly where I stand in my progress. I use the numbers only as motivation....i.e, I set goals for myself, then bust my ass to achieve them. Once attained, the goals then become loftier. That's what makes climbing fun for me. Let's say my goal is to climb a 5.13a. Well, I am working my butt off projecting what I think is a 13a and when I finally send it, it comes up in conversation that the route is really a 12c. Well what do I do? Do I get upset? No. I simply say, "OH well it was a fun route anyway, I just have to keep working. I haven't achieved my goal yet." So when I come on here asking you all what you think about a particular route, it's only because I am just trying to keep track of who is winning the war of "ME vs. ROCK.
