I'm heading to Thailand for my honeymoon and was wondering if anyone knows of a guidebook for there, especially for the Krabi area. Thanks

Wow! That sounds like some honeymoon! I've heard of Krabi and its supposed to be one hell of a climbing destination! Have fun!
I'm sure you'll be able to find a guide book once your over there. I had a friend who did some climbing over in Thailand and he said guides were really cheap and way worth it. PM me when you get back and let me know how it was.

thanks for the info. I've found some stuff online, but nothing too extensive. We're really psyched to go and do some deep water soloing

Yeah, you're one step ahead of me on the Thailand trip too! I've been dreaming of going there someday. I have a video called "Climb International" that features a section on Thailand. I can't wait to hear about your trip. Be sure to post a trip report when you return (and some photos). Have fun...

hopefully I'll have some video too, of me taking some 50 footers into the water, or better yet, her taking 50 footers into the water. Oh and I found a guidebook that should work great

Thailand is awsome! I assume your talking about Rai Lay.The climbing is on tufas and flow stone. I did not see or hear of any deep water soloing. It is pretty humid but it don't matter because your in a tropical paradise. That will be a great honeymoon.

The place for deep water soloing and some of the best limestone sport routes in Europe is in Mallorca, Spain.

I am thinking about going the second week of February. How about you? I have looked over some guide books and there are a bunch of them. The one by King Climbers seems to be pretty extensive in terms of the number of routes listed.

We're not heading there until next december, just trying to get some early research in. Oh and natas, there was a slide show given at Miguel's and the guy had just gotten back from a deep water soloing trip there. He gave me some info on where to go and basically said to just pick a route and go till you fall or jump. The guide I was looking for was for the bolted routes, which I found. Rock Climbing in Thailand by Schmitz & Changrua 2nd ed. 2004 seems to be a bit more extensive and slightly newer then the one by King in case you care. Thanks everyone for the beta
