Military Wall.....
Military Wall.....
does anyone have any idea when the right side of military might reopen
NOPE! It is still in the hands of the FS. The Forest Wide Management Plan Revision process is taking longer than inticpated. The biggest problem is funding! That's why all of the routes that climbers have submitted to be reviewed & approved have not been finished as of yet. PLease hang in there with the rest of us & stay positive! SLOW PROCESSSSSS.
Just genuinely disengenuous.

You might want to check over at http://www.rrgcc.org under closures on the status if you haven't already. Even though this is a "temporary" closure, the government moves at a glacial pace, so expect the "temporary" closure to last for a while. Before it can be opened a physical "hardening" of the ground at the base of the cliff is proposed. Sounds like a lot of time and effort. Gretchen may want to chime in? If you want a more official analysis and response you might want to post your question on the RRGCC site forum.
"Be responsible for your actions and sensitive to the concerns of other visitors and land managers. ... Your reward is the opportunity to climb in one of the most beautiful areas in this part of the country." John H. Bronaugh
Beat you to it ol'man!
Definitely PALEASE utilize the www.rrgcc.org website! It is there for you to use as an information tool & updates.
It's cost $$$$$ to do what needs to be done. Each year the US Government takes more & more funding AWAY from the USFS which completely disables the function of their jobs! Please be considerate of how much effort the FS does put forth in our efforts! We have certainly made huge head ways in our relationship with the USFS and through educational methods, we have empowered the USFS to seriously consider that need to protect climbing as a vital resource to the American public. They certainly have gained a greater appreciation of why we want to climb. Sure there are certain special interest groups that are not in agreement and are ademently opposed to climbing, but give us the chance to pursue them!
