Yup it's the falls where you stop a foot or two from a ledge or the deck that make you count your blessings.

How about falls from a heel hook while 15 feet up over a bad landing with one pad and no spotters?

Hell, at least with a rope you have a chance of something catching you before you deck.

shit I don't even what to talk about bouldering falls...my leg still bothers me when it gets cold outside. Still bouldering is the shit, I'd trade in all my rope gear for a sweet boulder field 10 minutes from my home.

I think highball mantles are the scariest falls. "Uh oh!"

bolt whipping, especially out west. Who knows who put it in and if they knew what they were doing. I know if my gear is good or not (and yeah sometimes it's not - it's just mental). You can't tell me falling on those Freddie Krueger bedframe hangers Porter used boosts your confidence.

Supposedly a guy from Black Diamond tested some of those bedframe hangers and they were much stronger than expected. They sure look scary and sharp though! I still feel better on new hangers.

How bout hanging 70 feet up, out in space penduluming from a roof crack, while you watch your rope saw halfway through on the sharp lip of the crack.

Big bouldering falls never looked so good.....
