Muir Valley
Thanks Rick! We are extremely grateful for the opportunity and looking foward to adding another hundred or so routes next year (lichen lungs, bloody knuckles, hernias, damaged eyeballs, injured feet and all). There will easily be well over 100 routes by the end of the year. We couldn't thank you enough. Also, your help cleaning some of these routes and keeping us motivated is greatly appreciated. I live for the weekends at Muir! Lots of work, but worth every minute of it!

If you ask me, Annie needs some lovin'.... a little bit of dusting and some lube for the bits. Jared also needs to remember to place her off to the side before throwing down chunks of rocks while cleaning routes!dhoyne wrote:Who would have thought that Annie would get such a work out?

Hey. I took a group from EKU down to the Great Wall on Saturday, and the routes that we did were all great. IROP was fun for the brand-new-never-climbed-outdoors-before students. We did Moots, and that was super challenging at the bottom for them, but most got it. the 11 to the left of that was fun (i had the worst style ever pulling the bulge... hand jams way under there, all crammed up in the hole), Boltergeist was one of the best routes I've done in the Gorge, and the other couple of routes we did in the coridor were fun too. What an awesome day in a great place. Thanks ya'll. That big tree above the corridor is awesome!! Anyway, give yourselves another pat on the back!!

Sounds like you guys had a great time! Were you able to make it all the way to the actual Great Wall (Ledgends of Limonite to La Escalada)? There are some great routes there too!
FYI, the combination to the locked gate can be found somewhere in the Muir Valley website. It is also posted on the bulletin board/kiosk at the main parking lot.
