Break-in report (non-climbing area)

Post by Steve »

Trying not to be an alarmist, just passing along some info to remind everyone to be alert out there.

Last Sunday (10-31) my neighbor had his wallet stolen outta his truck that was parked in a Sun Oil parking lot along 1036. He was out riding quads with some buddies, parked his truck in the lot, left his wallet on the seat with the doors locked, and there was a truck & cargo trailer between his truck and the road. This sets up a perfect storm for a vehicle break-in. Someone came along and jimmied his lock, opened the door, stole the wallet while under the cover of the truck and tailer blocking anyone's view from the road. He called police and filed a report. It took them an hour or so to get there, but they did appologize for taking so long to respond. It sucks to get your ride broken into, but hard to find sympathy when you make your property a sitting duck for theives. So FYI break-ins are still occuring, take steps to decrease your chances of becoming a vitcim.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

A couple of friends got their van broken into at Roadside last weekend..... I guess 'they' got wind that the Manimal is not in town anymore.
