Stay the Hand

Post by Sunshine »

The first bolt is missing once again. I installed a new one a few months back. It was a 4 3/4" stainless. Does anyone know of its' whereabouts?

It was there two weekends ago and was spinning. The following weekend it was gone. I heard a climber was on it and removed it very easily.
Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.

I talked to the climber who removed it, he was able to pull it out with his fingers.

If anyone knows who has the bolt and sleeve, would you ask them to leave it at Miguel's? It is a very expensive bolt.
Thanks.

Maybe you should post this in the climbing forum too for those people that avoid this area?

Darn! Heartbreaker! I was wanting to get on dat hog this weekend, too! You say the bolt was pulled out by fingers? Scary! Reminds me my first Joshua Tree sport climb. Moved off a ledge on to the first bolt, which was loose. Shrugged that off and climbed up to the next one. Loose too. At least it wasn't overhanging.

Sounds like Stay the Hand needs a glue-in for the first bolt.

Many people stick the 2nd while working it these days.

Spinners are not always bad bolts, they just need to be tightened properly, not taken out. And it is super easy to remove a bolt by hand, once it is loosened enough.

Anyway, it would be cool if the person with the bolt gets in back to Terry. Those things do cost real money, and it does take time to put them in.

The 1st bolt is important for working the crux.
