I wouldn't call it nosing allah. The incident that Bruisebrother was talking about concerned Gabby. Since we (Team Muir) all love Gabby - and Petey and Eve, all team Muir dogs - then we are just concerned about their welfare. Your post just sounded like another bad case of he-heard-she-heard. That's all. This board had been through this with the whole dog-incident at Torrent. We don't need to do that again. All Bruisebrother did was remind everyone of the leash rule in effect at Muir.allah wrote:If you dont know what I am talking about then it dosent concern you so stop nosing around
P.S. thanks for opting to avoid Muir Valley considering your preference in the leash issue. It's definitely better than being there and breaking the rules.

Im am really close friends with the people that the "so called incident " happened with this weekend, and I am also really close friends with the people that had the incident at torrent. My dog maliki was also there at Muir with them, since I was off bolting at another crag, and asked them to watch maliki so that I wouldnt drop anything on her while I was drilling. The threatening of killing, my dog and my friends dog dosent go over well with me. It also isnt right of a man twice as big as my friend to corner her and get in her face.
What ever happened to that mammoth St. Bernard? I haven't seen him around since early this year. He is/was very fond of staring down (yes, down -- that dog is huge!!!!) at my Jeep and making me wait a while and pet him before passing by.
Sarcasm is a tool the weak use to avoid confrontation. People with any balls just outright lie.

No more he said...she said, this is what happened in a nut shell...
A group of us, with 3 dogs came to climb at Muir, some of us for the first time...none of us aware of the leash law. Some of us, including the dogs, went on to the Great Wall area...and as dogs that are not on a leash like to do, they ran ahead of us. When they did, they evidently provoked another dog there, we could hear some commotion around the corner, but I couldn't see what happened as they were out of my sight at the time. (One of the dogs got off its leash later, but I didn't hear any commotion about this.) This is where we were in the wrong...we did not know about the leash law, and not being familiar with the area, did not know where climbs and people could be ahead of us. I understand leash laws, and respect them if it is required by the area, or if people around me or those I'm climbing with, would prefer to have dogs in the area on a leash.
All that said, this situation does not give someone the right to start screaming at me irrationally, telling me what I'm going to do, where I'm going, and that he is going to KILL one my dogs, as I come around the corner trying to find out what all the commotion was about. The situation did not have to be a situation at all, if it could have been handled with reason...simple as that. Instead, I come around a corner only to have a couple dropping F bombs on me, telling me to go back where I came from, and that they will KILL one of the dogs I'm with. He didn't need to tell me they've been in this area since March, that they know everything about the area, and what goes on, and how things should be...That is F'n great, but I'm new to the area, so why don't we figure something out instead of screaming and threaten me...or does that make too much sense??? All this coming from an obvious member of the RRGCC, is this how the coalition represents itself and handles situations???
I did receive an apology from one person, as she explained how much her dog means to her and that she was concerned for her dogs welfare..which I completely understand and appreciate. I explained again, that we were not aware of a leash law, apologized for the trouble, but thought that the situation could have been handled much more diplomatically. Only later did I learn, directly from the women who was threatened, that the same guy who threatened the dog earlier, came up to her, backed her up to a tree, got in her face, and said again, that he would KILL her dog with his own bear hands if he saw it off its leash. A grown man threatening a women....are you f'n kidding me...a real class act representing the RRGCC.
I understand that if we would have been aware of the leash law this could have been avoided...but I don't feel like that is the real issue here. All that needed to be said was there is a leash law in effect for the Muir area, and to give us time to round up the dogs and get them on the leashes...simple as that. Instead we have the ridiculous thread going, all because we didn't know. I apologize to everyone for this whole thing except to the jackass that felt it would be better to scream and threaten me and those I was with.

It's not hard....just bouldery
You are right, I did not make myself clear when I mentioned the association that this person has with RRGCC...he is not just a member, but one of OUR Regional Representative's...do his actions sound anything like "Protecting, Ensuring, and Promoting Responsible Climbing"??? I know this is not a reflection on the entire RRGCC, but he is a repsentative of this organization, and that is why I mentioned it.

Good for you for saying it. I'm not opposed to the RRGCC in any way....but if somebody is gonna be on the committee, or represent, then don't be a bitch, and be an example.
Don Fig was a bitch as a ranger, and I didn't feel the slightest bit bad about trashing his lazy ass.....so if an RRGCC rep treated you disrespectfully.....trash em. Fuck it.
