You've got to be careful of those campus squirrels, they're vicious. I wonder if thier ferocity has any relationship with the number of them you see on campus that don't have tails anymore. Hmmm.
As for the route, I'd say leave it be and check it again next summer to see if they're still there or if they've moved on. I don't know if they'll use the same nest year after year or not.

Ticking is gym climbing outdoors.
However bad those campus squirrels are, I'll bet they don't compare with Camp 4 squirrels! One time I was sacked out on a bear box, laying back with my legs dangling down to the ground. A squirrel ran up my leg, I jolted up and it jumped off. Yeh! Chicago squirrels aren't that crazy.

forget tattoos...forget guys hair past your shoulders...forget weird piercings...
we had to be in at 11pm otherwise we got locked out and if we carded in then we got fined
tiny bubbles...
but you shoulda seen the squirrels doin' all those things!!!!

j-rock,
i say leave the route alone for a while and see what happens. it is nearing winter and the squirrels may be looking for a warmer home soon.
I dunno...I'm such a hypocrate on this topic cause I'll kill spiders, wasps and other little creepy crawlys on routes, but if it has feathers or fur, I usually steer clear.
