Giving up being Vegetarian

Post by Spragwa »

Hey all,

Just a question. I haven't eaten meat in at least 10 years. Meat just disgusted me, so I quit eating it. HO offered me $50 if I would eat a cheeseburger. So, I'm going to do it. Has anyone decided to quit being a vegetarian suddenly? If so, how did your body respond. I'm pretty sure I'll barf at some point.

Yes, I will admit ahead of time that it's childish. But it seems stupid to pass up $50.

I was a vegetarian for 10 years and now eat some meat. So, how did it happen? Vic made dinner one night for himself and it was this awesome smelling filet. I couldn't believe I even thought it smelled good. I'd not had meat in my house for 10 years, or cooked it, and it usually made me sick to my stomach to smell it. Aftere much consideration I decided it wouldn't kill me to taste one little bite. It was so good... it just melted in my mouth... the rest is history.

I don't eat meat very often and when I do it's usually a little piece of chicken, but I didn't have any major side effects. Probably because I didn't start eating a lot of it.

I do have a suggestion for your bet - make sure it's a really good quality of meat or you will get sick to your stomach! Then eat some good veggies afterwards and enjoy the $50!!

I'd bet good money you'll puke but there are worse things people have eaten for $50.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

based on my experience, you need to start back on beef slowly or it will tear you up.

Vegetarian is an ancient Indian term for "Bad Hunter".

People's bodies will behave differently. As I understand it, it will depend on whether your body has expelled the things in your stomach that help you to breakdown meats (or the germies may have died off on their own). It is usually harder for vegans to return than vegetarians.

Good luck.
Sounds like this weekend's Ale-8s are on you at Miguels!
Thanks, baby!

another "I know I probably shouldn't say this" post... but I was just thinking that Ho's money would be better spent getting you to swallow. :P

I knew a woman who was vegan for a couple years, and then quit. She went from vegan one morning to eating a big cheeseburger that night. She said she had no ill side effects at all. I guess it all depends on your body.
