Way to Go

Post by Jeff »

The rrgcc and volunteers really deserve major thumbs up for the work they have done at the Volunteer Wall, Playground, and Shady Grove. Excellent trail work and routes.
I was very impressed!

Volunteer wall is amazing! Is playground past vw or before?

It's behind it.
Instead of heading left when you see the rock from the trail, go around to the right.
You will come to the Playground, then if you keep going you will come to the steep stuff that is Shady Grove.

Im so confused on this? I was trying to find the playground on like Friday and ended up at VW. And i didnt see anytrail going around it to the right; did i take a wrong step at the new rrgcc parking area or do i continue up the road there?

From the parking area, head up the road. The first trail (with some rock steps) and sign will take you to the playground and shady grove. If you keep going up the road, you will see signs for the v wall, and if you pass that, you will come to the gallery.

Jeff, glad you liked the work. It was a fun day for sure, one of the best trail days I have been to.

you can get to the Playground from Volunteer Wall, too. Looking at the cliff, go to the far right. As you head down the trail away from the rock, take the trail to the left and you will end up at the Playground. The cliff will be on your left. Right? I mean, correct?

Pretty much, there are routes starting at the v-wall (far left) scattered all the way to the shady grove (far right). Walking the cliff line is possable, but it is better to use the trails.
