Bishop

Post by Huggybone »

I'll be in bishop friday after xmas until the sunday after new year with some people from MN. Anybody else headed out there? Reccomended places? Problems? Is it worth bringing a rope and a rack just in case?

Someone was showing me this picture of a problem in Bishop once. All I could see was, beyond the boulder with the climber on it, another boulder on top of the stack with a complete splitter offwidth. Man, it was a fine looking line.

i will be out there for the next two weeks but not while you are there. camp at the pit. bring a rope and sport rack and hit owen's river gorge if you want but all the action can happen on the boulders. i think most of the trad stuff is up in the mountians and not a winte activity but i am not sure. pick up the bishop survival guide when you get there as they update it periodically.

i think owens river crags will soon be covered with snow with a series of storms hitting CA sooon tonight, but you might want to bring ropes/gears if you want to climb highballs out there.. looootttts of highballs in bishop...

i don't think i'll be driving to bishop till mon or tues.. just in time to squeeze in between two storms...

i feel bad for these chicagoans who came at such wrong time...

hope they can go ski or snowboarding up in mammoth mtn..
