Everyone also needs to take a moment to re-read the Registration Agreement Terms as they have been modified slightly. Please CLICK HERE for the Registration Agreement Terms

clarifications?

Sorry to be borderline pedantic, but here goes:

"vulgar language"
I guess the simplest response to this is "vulgar language is what ever we feel like." But did you have something in mind? Are you just primarily trying to keep 'cuss words' that might start with letters like 'f' or 's' out of the general discussions? Should we refrain from references to specific sex acts? Discussion boards tend to lead to teasing and ribbing, which could be called 'vulgar' by some people, but are just funny to others.

"No references to child molestation of any kind will be tolerated. "
This is strongly worded - am I making a prohibited reference to child molestation by bringing this up? Obvioiusly no one wants pedophiles sharing information here, and it seems things like graphic descriptions of abuse would also be highly objectionable. At the other extreme, one might be tempted to make a humorous comment that implies child molestation indirectly (e.g. "Cletus and his daddy/brother came up to me....") Is there something specific you are trying to avoid?

Any thoughts about discouraging abusive language or epithets relating to gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.?

Thanks

The second link, for the Registration Agreement Terms, covers most of your questions. Note, the two links are different.

Click on the profile for the Moderators screen name and select to view all posts by Moderators. Read those threads and that will show you how & why these rules evolved and that will perhaps answer your other questions.

As to refraining from vulgar language, this is not a Puritan site by any stretch, however we would like people to try to keep the four letter words to the flame section or at least to a bare minimum. The ever popular eff word as well as some choice body descriptors have no place outside of the flame section and we will be trying to moderate those more consistently.
