Good Tang
That's a tough ass 5.7! Kinda exposed and spooky but it's solid fun climbing for sure. There was a tree that was fallen to the left of the line about three years ago and it wasn't in the way. Not sure if that's the tree you're talking about.
Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.
Go freakin' do it, it rocks out. You can run the first two "pitches" together and bail after the second. The tree is not in the way if you pull the roof directly. Maybe harder than the Attraction or Environmental Impact, but not that bad.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
It is fun, but can be daunting. My lesson-learned from doing Good Tang: If you get scared, place gear. Then, it isn't so scary. Perhaps, this is a no-brainer to most, but took me quite a few scary crux's to learn.
Re: The Tree--> There are enough different ways to do the moves around the tree, that you aren't forced to get in the tree's way.

Yeah, the tree takes the easy way to finish the first pitch off the table, but the overhang has a good hand sized crack all the way up. Big gear (or horizontals) for P2, it's a chimeley. Anchors have been placed at the ledge to the right of the climb for rapping from the bottom of P2.
5.7+, but not a 9 or old school 8, easier than Dog Days. P2 kicks ass and it's an awesome topout.
