Denali in June, 2005

Post by GWG »

I am heading to Denali the second week of June, 2005. At the moment, there are 4 of us signed up to go. This is enough for one rope team. If there is interest from enough people, we could create an additional rope team.

A couple of things:

A. Is anyone interested in going on this trip? The cost without transportation to Alaska will be around $4,000.

B. Has anyone already been and have some advice on alternative ways to train? I've trained for some other high mountains with great success however the training I did was monotonous. Just looking for a little variety.

C. Any suggestions on what -20 degree bag to get? I've got a Mountain Hardware Dimension 3 good down to 0. Most of the major manufacturers offer an extreme bag however I'm looking for some personal recommendations.

If interested in more specifics on the trip, PM me and I'll be happy to fill you in. The team thus far is extremely strong, the guide just led a successful expedition to the summit of Mt Everest. The other 2 individuals were on that expedition. One summited and the other reached 28,000' The experience of this team is solid and something to really consider if you are looking to attempt a peak such as Denali.

Hmm, 4000 + transportation + shitload of gear. Let me start selling my body and/or dealing drugs and count me right in. Wait, my body is worth about .99 and I don't have drugs. :(
The theory of evolution is just as stupid as the theories of gravity and electromagnetism.
