Tiny World!

Post by Yasmeen »

So for months my dad has been telling me about this guy who used to work for him who climbed all the time at the Red, and I finally find out last night the guy was John Dinsmore! Coach is meeting him this weekend for a trip down to the Red and was telling me about it, and I finally put two and two together. Small world!

I think it was Wes that was saying you could play the Kevin Bacon game with climbers just as easily.

The last time I saw John was at Rincon Wall in Eldo in 1995. It turns out that I will be climbing this weekend so when you see Manimal/Coach, let him know I'll be @ Miguel's late Sat. eve.

Aw, you'll miss them, Static-- they're going to be at the Red on Friday, but not the rest of the weekend. Do you have Keith's cell phone number? I could PM it to you if you like.

Thanks to T-Bone there is now a super-cool route known as "The Return of the Manimal" at Muir. 8)

I was thinking about another story called: Courtney meets the Manimal.

During my trip to CA last October, I rode a motorcycle from San Francisco to Las Vegas for the climb in Red Rock Canyon. As I left Yosemite and came off the mountain on the east side I stopped at that "gormet food" gas station (I think it's a Mobile). Manning the cash register was a guy, around my age, who grew up no more than 5 miles from me and attended the "rival" HS down the road. THAT was amusing. 2000 miles across the country, on a motorcycle, I ran into someone who grew up in the town next to mine.

It's so cool when stuff like that happens!
Ray and I were in a Lexington restaurant close to I75 once, waiting on a table, and I ran into an old friend from Savannah, Georgia who I knew eight years ago. He was just passing through Kentucky on his way up north and just pulled off the highway for a bite to eat. It was really cool. :)
Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.

I was in basic training at Ft. Dix NJ way back when.
Male and female troops were seperated.
Standing in line at the chow hall (what a name), I look over and see a girl I went to school with. We start talking and both got dogged for it.
Hit the deck and do pushups :P .
