Cool snake! Is that a corn? It looks different...

Heres some pics of my own. They are all from my last trip to southern Illinois.

Three baby water moccasins. I know they look like copperheads, but they darken as they mature.

Black Racer eating mouse

Hope you enjoyed them!!!

Oh, and just for the sake of knowing, there are no water moccasins in RRG. They dont come that far east. They live only in the western 1/3 of KY.

Yeah, I've seen at least 7 or 8 Black Racers at Muir. Two were VERY large and fast. Another was encountered while trying to remove a loose block from a route. Also, a couple of copperheads, black rat snakes, a little green snake, and two unknown snakes that I could not identify. Lots of turtles, lizards, newts, frogs, etc. Plenty of little orange newts. Myriad wildflowers everywhere. Lots of waterfalls and caves. I've even spotted a box turtle eating a mole and ripping it to shreds. Took pix of it too.

I think the pictures of the turtle eating the mole need to be posted.
Screw you guys. I'm going bowling.

Bummer! For some reason, I don't see the images from Shaggybill. I can see Sandy's picture of her snake just fine.

Anyone else have this problem?

I need to post a shot of my son's box turtle climbing the brick wall of our house. He got up about 3 ft before falling. Once he saw his turtle doing this, he started keeping a pile of leaves at the base so he wouldn't hurt himself.

Cool, I'll post some of the turtle-eating-mole pictures later tonight.

Thanks Jeff.

GWG, I dont know why they arent showing up for you. Thats wierd. I guess you could go to the properties box on the pic and paste the URL into your address bar. That should work. It did for me when I tried it.

Yeah, I wanna see the mole-eating turtle too!
