Storms

Post by wix »

Was anyone at the Red this past sunday when that storm went through? I was sitting at home after it passed here, wondering about all the climbers camping out that weekend. It was a bad storm...just wondering if anyone had first hand experience with it.

What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

I heard that a horse farm near the Red lost 30 horses because of the flooding of the river. That is a sacrifice to the gods indeed.

luckily i had to leave to go home early saturday evening, so i got the shelter of my house :) . Atleast I took down my tent, or I'm sure it would be demolished by now.

are you serious snoop? horses are pretty hard to drown. if that is true then it is very sad.

I saw the story about the horses on the news last night. Very serious, very sad. They were only able to save one foal. Those poor, beautiful creatures.

yeah, 30 horses drowned. they managed to rescue a bunch of them, but were too late to get the others. originally they had thought 50 had drowned, but turned out to only be 30. definately sad.

The bison got loose at Gladie during the floods. When the river rose on Sunday the fence went and the buffalo roamed free. They have rounded up most of them and are holding them on some private land up 77. Supposed to be moving them back down to Gladie today.

*blatent plug* Watch Neschannel 36 tonight (6/2) for the story (really sorry I'm not out shooting that one today, but internet porn/crimes against children was my draw this day). *end blatent plug*
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

The storms Thursday night were worse. One girl lost her tent, luckily that was all she lost. Sunday night was more rain than high winds, still pretty bad.

On the other hand, friday and saturday were perfect climbing days. It was the shit!
