thanks a lot rob. this was the most entertained i've been on this board since it opened, with all the moderation. i wanted to argue more and bring in the inflamatory arsenal i'm so well known for.

SCIN is right in that I can't get my chicken bones into these knee scums. Horass is right too that it is routes like convicted and the legend with the obvious but originally overlooked knee bars right in the middle of the crux that is at issue (thanks for the retrospective of a whos- who of cheeseouts on south east test pieces, Hor ass. Very Authoritative. Clearly spoken from experience.)
For the record, I did convicted before the knee bar was discovered. That makes me stupid for not seeing it (by the way it was Porter who found it) but it is way harder without. I have tried the one on the Legend but don't fit. Try clipping that third bolt without that knee bar. You tell me how it affects the grade.

well for the record, the first time i got to the 3rd bolt on the legend i couldn't clip it and grabbed the draw. i used the kneebar after that. also for the record, i used the kneebar on convicted. actually, most of the "hard" routes i've done with some kind of "rest". i'm definitely THE authority on cheeseouts. i guess because i probably couldn't do the route without the rest, but unfortunately i like the routes and want to send them. woe is me. man, i swear i don't think i could send steelworker without the handjams in the middle.

that's funny about your knees not fitting on the legend. i heard a rumor many moons ago that you were so against kneebars, you gave the route up. good ol' second hand info.

Partially true, H. I gave it up when I couldn't do it after two seasons of work- always fell going to the third bolt. Dave came up one day and I let him send it.
For a guy like Dave to hang on the first bolt of a route that I can't do is silly and contrived and it would have a empty gesture just to appease my ego.
But Craig Smith found the knee bar after that.
Still, going for it from the ground with that three bolt boulder problem and then having to clip the third without the homo bar, just hanging on to that heinous sloper above the third, risking the almost ground fall is heady and committed. (and to the critics, I defy anyone to find a better bolt sequence to avoid the long fall issue. Doug Reed tried and gave it up, as did Porter. They both said it wouldn't go.)

by the way HF, i'm really, really gay and i like little boys. If there is any way you could hook me up with any boys you know, i'd be grateful. thanks.
