I'm amazed that that was spraypainted on a bridge in California. Just think what's on bridges around Iraq: "I want Bush gone so I can stop being forced to fist myself!" (But in Arabic, of course)

That's right! But they would write "I would rather have my head chopped off, have all the capable professionals driven out, their children kidnapped for ransom, all the christians stoned, jews murdered, kurds gassed, swamps drained, and have terrorists for neighbors than vote to maintain bush's system of giving us billions of dollars."

But, spray paint is scarce.

But, AH, to expand on the dilemma (meaning two lemmas) of being a public school educator: I greatly dislike the attitude and most politics of the democratic party. However, they are not activly trying to destroy public education. Therefore, I vote democrate at the state level (which controls education funding).

On a national level, I am forced to vote for a president who made some major boo-boo's in Iraq, and whose environmental policy I disagree with. OR, vote for the most arrogant, loud mouthed muther fucker (kerry). He has followed the book: don't actually commit to anything, and people will like you. THe only thing he has to offer is this: "I am not Bush." (which may actually be enough) Oh, and of course: "I have no problem with lying in plain sight" (a considerable asset for a politician)

He has no plan to change anything in Iraq. If he brings the UN in, What will be different? Nothing. Just different people holding the guns and getting shot by muslims during a cease fire.

I am so sick over what has happened I wake up in cold sweats. There is great evil stirring, and it will not sway with an election. Those involved in Abu Garab...The terroist cutting of a man's head...Do you really think that Kerry can make it all better?

I am reminded of the quote from Arragorn in 'lord of the rings':
King: "I will not risk open war...
Aragorn: "Open war is upon you, wether you would risk it or not."

'Terrorism' is not a country, it has no responsibility, no population to answer to. Fortunatly they (currently) lack nuclear weapons. Unfortunatly the cannot be appeased, at all, under any circumstance. They have no stated terms for disengagement.

This will only end like WWI: when enough people die that everyone gives up. And who shows the signs of giving? Not Alkita (sp?) Not extreemist warlords (clerics). Not the administration. Only the US population.

It comes down to this: As a nation, we are equally 'fisted' if we engage, or disengage.

As for haliburton... It reminds me of a french political cartoon from WWI: a jewish guy is selling a unifor, and smiling, when the solder buys it. The moral: you fill in the blank_____________________________________

Remember, you don't know what you don't know. There are things you can't know and these things are unknowable. There are things you do know that you know and other things that you may know but don't know you know. And there are still other things you think you know that you really know nothing about. In other words, you don't know what you don't know.

At this point, by the way, "terrorism" is just another boogy bear that is as meaningless as "drugs."

There's a group of people out to kill us for being arrogant assholes. But we don't know where they are. Once again, it's back to shit we know or don't know. Or that you don't know. Personally I know they're going to kill your ass in about sixteen years by causing a guy in Nevada to spill some nuclear waste and then pretend he didn't and you're going to pass by there and get infected and you're going to get this ugly fucking thing growing out of the side of your head that speaks Russian and some redneck is going to kick your ass because he thinks the cancer growing out of the side of your head called him a pussy. But we don't know that for sure.

Well, let's see...Last I check the body count was roughly 3,000 American civilians.

But, I guess I'm out of touch- that was almost three years ago.

I remember one of the characters in "Platoon" saying something like " I don't know about all that ...all I know is I hurt real bad inside"
That is how I feel about all the suffering on all sides.
I try to be a good man but all that comes
of trying is I feel more guilty.
