Larry is being modest. I've been on all of the 3 star routes <5.10b that are listed in John's (paper) guidebook. JUNGLE BEAT is definitely my favorite RRG route so far.

So Larry, we still eagerly await your account of the FA....

Rock Wars gets its 5.10 rating from the second pitch. The first pitch is one of the nicest trad 5.9 grades I've done in the gorge. The stems gave me the illusion of climbing with style, rather than the grunting and groaning Ex-lax sound track that accompanies most of my ascents.

Jerry is also being modest. After many times hearing him talk about his route Blister in the Sun, I finally took him up on giving it a go. I have talked to several other people who have done it and we all agree that is one of the best 9's in RRG.

I agree with that one for sure. Blister in the Sun makes you feel like you're in North Carolina or something.

Strict 9, 'cause I can climb it! :P
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Best trad 9 in the gorge has to be Where Lizards Dare. Very fun and very difficult for the grade IMO.
