Has Gretchen really resigned, or was that total BS? I know several individuals (not me) who are interested in stepping into Gretchen's shoes. How does this process work? Will someone else on the board move into the role of president and will you then fill that position? Please clarify the process so that interested and qualified people CAN volunteer.Johnny wrote:I'm waiting for one of the critics to volunteer to take Gretchen's place....
Thanks.
The existing board members select additional board members. There has to be a minimum, but it is up to the board to determine whether more are wanted. Right now, we can use more. We're basically looking for people who have shown a consistent interest in the goals and missions of the RRGCC and have skills, knowledge, etc. to add to the coalition. The president is elected by the board members. All pretty standard stuff as NPO's go. No smoke, no mirrors.
for some reason this very direct question is being evaded. It makes no matter, because my source has told me that Gretchen absolutely did not resign. This is a fact. I just wanted to see how this situation would be handled. I find it disconcerting that the President of the BOD would intentionally mislead the very people whose support is needed for the RRGCC's mission.
Go ahead and call me a BITCH, but I'd rather be a bitch than a liar.
That said, I do wish the RRGCC success, despite the obvious problems. Your hard work is admirable and very much appreciated. That is also a fact.

Sandy, what exactly is it that you are trying to flesh out here? I believe it has been stated elsewhere that existing Board members recruit new ones. I am sure that the Board would also be willing to be approached by qualified volunteers. Do you or anyone else have any nominations?
