The RRGCC Rocks!

Post by Spragwa »

Hey all. I wanted to do a thread specifically for Bob, Johnny, Shannon, Gretchen, Rhino, all CAC members and all volunteers. So, if there's any negative ideas, please post it elsewhere.

Here's why I am grateful for the RRGCC:

1. Shannon kept Military from being shut down in its entirety;
2. The PMPP is the most amazing land acquisition and it will be a climbers preserve/paradise;
3. Despite harsh criticism, long hours and daunting hurdles, the BOD is perservering to ensure that the PMPP is an amazing climbing area.
4. The BOD continues to work with Charmagne to secure access to our climbing areas and to avoid conflict where possible;
5. The BOD and the rest of the RRGCC has worked very hard to address climber's criticisms on how information is disseminated and has made great strides in this area.

Thanks all. Please keep this post positive. All volunteers deserve a HUGE pat on the back.

A HUGE thanks to RRGCC and volunteers for all the work they have done! From working with the forest service, to the PMRP and just plain old crag maintenance. Its awesome! The Red is a better place to climb because of it.

I wish we had an organization with volunteers as dedicated as those of the RRGCC at my home crag (SoIll)...there are very few, if any places in the US that can boast of such a grass roots acquisition. Thanks a million for the dreams you have envisioned, and the good times you have help provide to thousands of climbers.
Positive vibes brah...positive vibes.

Can still happen if alot of climbers dont clean up thier act. Think about it.
Do you want your only options to be Torrent and Roadside?

Y,NUT, Good point for all to take notice! There is still the usual breaking of F.S. rules, ie: littering, parking on pavement, short cutting trail switchbacks, etc.. Then there are still those who are illegally bolting in the D. B. N. F., Bolting on private property without permission, and some telling others to use thier own judgement to climb in closed areas rather than telling them to stay out! Wake-Up climbing community the F.S. is still watching us and can stop climbing if they want! The RRGCC cannot save us. Only our own actions can!

Ynut . thats a good one. I seriously dont think there is any illeagal bolting happening,but the other things are valid.The last 2 times I went to Fortress,I picked up 6 or 8 cigarrete butts,rather than me getting blamed for them.If you bring someone along that doesnt know better,then tell them.Wes did just that
when I started climbing and I never forgot.
