Once, long ago, some of us got a KY atlas and figured out the driest spot in the state. It was Pulaski County, home of Somerset. Not only is it a HUGE county but it is surrounded by huge counties in every direction, all of which are (or were) dry. It's like a thousand square miles of dryness. Oh, the horror. The horror.

But then again, who in the world would drink beer with their pizza when they can have Ale 8?

I never waste a beer while eating. Drinking beer is a solo act in my opinion. Whoever started that beer ad about, "this beer was made for food," was out of their minds. You can't taste the beer for the food. Of course, this is only if you drink decent beer.

Let's see, ten minutes from Blue Heron which means forty five minutes to an hour from Grandma's house. One way. It's the driest place in the Western Hemisphere. Even camping deep in the desert in Utah it's only a fifteen or twenty minute drive to buy some beer. I guess if you went to the far eastern edge of the black rock desert in Nevada you'd be further from beer but if you didn't bring beer with you out there then you'll probably die soon anyway.

I always truck in beer with me and leave it in Grandma's fridge. Of course my uncle drinks any that's left but I reckon that's ok.

But if I ever run low, I know where to go! Especially if I've got a hankering for a Zima.
