Any votes for best bourbon? I think Bookers is the best, does anyone know if that is cheaper in KY than other states? any distillery's near by worth a tour on a rest day? Best bargain bourbon?

Booker's is OK, Bakers is very similar. Basil Hayden's is my favorite smooth, mild bourbon. I also drink a little Knob Creek now and then.

For strength, it's all about Turkey or maybe Evan Williams. Cheap Thrills you gotta go with Heaven Hill.

Basically, if it's made in Ky with over 50% corn and aged in charred oak then it's all good.

I enjoy Jim Beam Black Label aged 8 years. Try it in my "8-Ball" mix:
Fill a highball glass w/ice.
Pour 2 oz. Jim Beam Black Label over ice.
Top off w/ 8 oz. of Ale-8-One

I can't believe this myself but Crown Royal is my favorite whiskey, not a bourbon, not a Ky, hell not even USA but I like it. My bartender gives me 7UP or water depending on his read, the little bags are good for sticking your headlamp in too.
