i guess you could do the southeast or northeast for the summer. but the fall is really the best time for those areas. you have bugs and humidity to deal with in the south and north in the summer. out west there is no humidity and way less bugs.

part of the appeal of being a full time climber is that you get to climb at places during the best season. if you have lots of time it is best to spend it in the ideal places, especially if you are living somewhere. i have definately made mistakes and gone to the east coast in the summer or tried long routes at red rocks during the shortest days of the year. and you can do it and it is fun. but it is not as good as being at the right place at the right time.

be a fair weather climber, but follow it around...

you can camp in the NF for free if you dont have a car. Go camp out at Long Wall or The purple valley. Youy can camp anywhere in the DBNF for free.
