Sponsorship

My buddy came home from a comp with a "sponsorship" the other day...Evolv shoes I believe....(never heard much of them, but who am I to know...)

Anyway, my question is to sponsored climbers.... what are some of the perks you get? is it just free gear, or do you have to always wear the stuff? do you have to submit pictures of your recent accomplishments? do you use the stuff becasue you truly believe it is the best, or because you get it for free? or is it free..maybe you just get it at cost?

Just curious...and does anyone actually know a sponsored climber who gets cash from a climbing manufacturer, and not just free gear?

Evolv sponserships require you to wear there shoes that the send you free at comps along with there apperal, its not that great consdering the shoes completely suck, and they give sponserships out like candy it seems.

Man I don't quite understand it. I've heard of certain climbers getting sponsored when there are MUCH better climbers out there...of course not me.

Yea thats because they throw them selves at sponsors, they send in resumes and all that shit so that they can say they are sponsored, I would much rather have someone come to me and ask if they can sponsor me, but that is pending on if im good enough, sponsered climbing are so over rated anyways

fuck everyone who says sponsored climbers are just sellouts and that they throw themselves at the sponsors. who gives a fuck? man i'd love to fuckin climb for a job. most people are just jealous. eat shit and die ass scum.
