Crag Attacks

Discussions full of RAGE!

What do you think of people who intentionally climb in large groups and try to "take over" a crag?

It doesn't bother me at all.

Screw you, Ho. You should know me better than that than to assume I think I'm better than anyone else.

I don't want to hang out and have to conform to a group mentality of where we can go so that everyone can get on a route that best suits them. I want to go camp my ass in front of MY project and work it. I'm climbing with Mandy on Saturday and we're working one route. Anyone want to climb with us? We'll be at Military.

I have come to the realization that the crowds are here to stay and there is very little one can do to change another person’s habits. I have been in my fair share of races to climbs. It's not a truly enjoyable outing when you get so worked up. I did get some sort of sick enjoyment out the races I did win. The instances when I started first and someone tried to beat me to the climb by passing from behind really got me worked up. I would nearly kill myself trying to make it there first. I now get up at the butt crack of dawn (first light) and love it. I usually have three climbs in before I even see another person. This approach even works at the most popular crags. Once you get into the early routine, you will agree it's pretty cool. I am only telling everyone my secret because I know how many lazy fucking assholes are out there who climb for the wrong reason. No offence to the cool climbers! THE EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM AND THE WORM GETS THE LATE BIRD

- PUBLIC APOLOGY NOTIFICATION -

I am deeply sorry if I made any of my lady friends feel bad for choosing to not attend Estrogen Fest 2004. I am very selfish with climbing right now and want to climb only certain routes so I can get stronger and send some projects I've been wanting for the longest time. It's all about me...I admit it 100%. I did not, however, mean to make anyone feel bad or make myself out to be better than anyone else.

What is the difference of one large group or 4 small groups? If they said they came as on large group you would get pissed if they came as 4 small group, but still took up as much room no one would say a word. What would piss me off is if there sole purpose is to get as many people as they can together and take over a crag to just piss people.

Does everyone agree that you should wait in line? I have had an several experiences where I waited in line for a climb that a group was on and other people within the group think they can come right over after a different climb and get in front of you because their group has claimed that climb for the day. Is that total bullshit or am I wrong?

I almost got into a fight over that  Was truly one of the most unpleasent climbing experiences I have ever had.
