I just look at is as preparing everyone for a hardcopy in a year or so. If the cat is let out of the bag now then it won't be that big of a deal if/when a hardcopy is released.

Consider it an experiment.

merrick not to sound like some paraniod person living in a George Orwell novel, but we are doing just that. People who don't share our same intrests read this crap (sometimes on government time) and will gladly use it against us (all climbers). The Forest Service does have guidbooks. The FS archeologists took John's 2nd edition crag to crag doing shovel tests to look for things of cultural signifgance. In some cases it might have been true that if climbers didn't raise a big stink no one would have ever noticed, but let us not forget Hominy Hole.

I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Hmmm, not a bad idea, Merrick. Ray, why not just delete this entire thread? The guidebook stays, the problem goes..

don't give up yet. delete it later after giving people time to read it and think about whether they want to make a big stink about such a minor issue.

by the way, Sita, you can set up apache, mysqul and php on a windows box. i know you can do web serving and all that and assume you could make a database like scin's with out the knowledge of linux. (but i am not 100% certain about this)

Gretchen, where is the next meeting of the RRGCC? I would like to attend. May I open with a prayer? Seems to me the RRGCC needs all the help it can get.
