Classic Routes of the Red River Gorge

andy lemon: The impression I recieved at the RRGCC meeting was that the online guide would have tick list. This was a few days ago so that may have changed.

The way the RRGCC in general is talking about the 3rd edition is that it will be for the entire Red. Once again that may be my wishful thinking there.

Yes, I may be from the hell hole of Evansville but Vic came and talked to us too. I don't believe he ever mentioned the tick list at our meeting. Maybe he thought it was irrelavent. Probably was since we kept him busy with questions about the SR.

The 3rd edition of the printed guidebook will be for the whole red. I was talking about the website and their online guide. Anyone know???

I was looking at Ray's list above and I remembered something I've seen in other guidebooks - for the most part, "high end" routes tend to get higher ratings than the classic "moderates". Yes, there are "easy" and "moderate" routes in that list, but a lot of them are "freakin' hard" (at least by my standards) - particularly compared to the traffic that most routes get.

Yeh, sometimes our egos get in the way of properly star rating routes.

The new guide book that will be put out by the RRGCC will be both on paper and electronic formats. It will have a number of features that we are working on finalizing. A tick list would be great, and we are hoping for one, but we will see.
In the end... it's a great project to be working on - and a huge one at that since it will include the entire RRG. That's the RRGCC ultimate goal - more info to come out when available.

H.O. Actually, you may just be surprised at what people are talking about right now. The fact is, once the RRGCC receives your (Horatio Felacio's) money, there may be no need to look at other venues like sponsors. What do you think?
