Why are we so obsessed with climbing? what are your thoughts?Think about it.We could be home ,all comfy on the couch, but instead we drive for hours and sleep in the cold just for a chance to climb. Some spend fortunes and climb in thin air, risk everything to climb a mountain ,half way around the world.
My only explanation is that climbing mirrors the strugle of life. We work all our life to get a little ahead.Sometimes clawing away for only an inch of ground, sometimes the payoff is big, like an onsight, ora letter grade up.
What do you think?
Why?
Excellent analogy. Being lowered after a climb is much like retracing your life experiences. You see the feet you missed, the slips you made, but also the good moves. Hopefully, learn from each climb, and try to do it better the next time. And, fortunately, your friends are there to help you along the way. Thanks, Partmer.
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

I am not sure I can answer the original question, but I must say climbing is an obsession for me. I have not been climbing that long, but it is taking over my life. In order of importance, climbing comes in ahead of college. I am supposed to be going to college to become educated in field that I want to excel in for the rest of my life. How can I excel in something that is not important to me?
As a sidenote, I am doing quite well in school, it just seems pointless sometimes.

No big deal.
