I'm sure this may have been previously discussed; but what is the name of the rock formations you can see from I-75 in Tennesse. I saw some people climbing on my way back from the Smokies.

Interesting spot, make sure you find the trail up to the rock and it isn't all that bad of an approach. Don't remember what routes we did, but I do remember falling in a creek. Seneca like fins of southern style sandstone, not blocky like SR, don't remember seeing any inspiring cracks. There was an on-line guide somewhere out there.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

lucy in the sky is a cool route,it is worth hte drive alone.there are also a couple of good routes in between the fins. also a great route up the nose of the southern most fin. We camped in the state park near the crag. we got a guide out of boulder-dash news letter.
If you're lucky enough to be in the mountains...You're lucky enough...
I like climbing there. The rock is Quartzite, and the place has an adventure flavor. There are sport and trad routes.
We (James and I) did dislodge a large block, but I was off route. The main distraction is the road noise.
There is an alternative approach through the park, which makes for safer parking.
There is a picture of Lucy in the Sky on page 94 of Harrison's "Southeastern Rock"
I anyone wants route info, I have the mini guide.
