tuolumne camping

anybody know if there is camping similar to yosemite "free" camping in tuolumne?

There's no free camping in either place. Toulumne Camp Site, The Lodge or Back Country Permit are your options.

Right outside the west gate are tons of places to bivy and no heat. 20 min from the store I think?

yeah...I meant the east gate though - towards the Mobil station
It's all National Forest out there

i don't know exactly. no sooner than may 7 and no later than august 1.
