Well, here is the deal, that little group has been a pain the ass for awhile now. We (mods) are sick of the crying wolf stuff (good story for you all to read, btw). The next time they falsely accuse someone of anything, or post another crappy troll, they will be banned. No poll, no discussion. Just gone. They have forfeited their right to the benefit of the doubt.
Oh, and I don’t know why you all seem surprised that climbers steal stuff. It happens all the time at Camp 4, and there have been a few scum bags around the red as well.
When i first started going there, I was told basically that tents would be left alone...that people for the most part respected the tent and wouldnt go rummage in someones tent. Granted, if you leave a bag of gear out on a table...someone might pick it up - if you're lucky it's someone like matt or aaron and they will do what they can to get it back to the right person.
I left a necklace at a crag once this winter and the guys that were out there were nice enought to bring it back to Miguels, not knowing who's it was and ask if it was any of ours....
So - this is the very first encounter with theft i have even HEARD anyone talk of down there.
Tar and feathers anyone?

we had a tent load of gear for several months at Miguel's, for the gear sale, that no one ever bothered with. However, there was a post on Climb Kentucky several years ago about a tent and all of the contents being stolen. Someone just emptied it, took it down, and walked off with it in broad daylight. There have been plenty of thefts at Roadside, too.
I also don't know why people are so surprised. Most climbers are not going to steal and will in fact try to return gear that is lost, but it shouldn't be a shock to anyone that if you leave expensive shit out, eventually there is going to be a theft.
Chester, your pompous replies are very helpful. Addressing the "off topic" content of this thread makes you off topic, too, with your "whatever" posts being pretty fucking useless.
