listen dude, the way I see it is that you are a dumb kid. Don't take it wrong, I was one once as well and I don't mean anything by it really. Your brand of humor can be pretty juvenile to us old fucks. More importantly, the constant whining about what the owner and admins of this forum do in order to keep the peace is really stale and irritating, and the intentional disruption of said peace is going to get you banned.
We're all climbers here, and we all love to hear about climbing. Your climbing posts are a good contribution to this forum, Aaron. What we don't want is the games. So when you post that there is someone stealing gear at Miguel's, and when that post makes no sense, what did you expect us to think?
I'm glad all the gear was recovered and appreciate the heads up. Quit with the crap and you won't be doubted in the future.
thefts at miguels!!!!!!
i just wanted to inform people and i don't make sense some time. just ask me to clarify, which you did, and i can straighten it out.
i understand the humor thing i don't like some of yours and apparently you guys don't like any of mind.
i may be a ''kid'', but i am not dumb. i do dumb things sometimes but we all do.
i don't mean to be annoying but i get angered when I SEE it as my friends being wronged.

mia, sandy, whatever.
um, now back to the subject (btw, is more important)
back to this theft thing...does Miguel think is is a local or a climber? if it's a local, fine...i just lock my car...
but if it's another climber then maybe we need to know about this cuz i don't want to have to be worried when i'm on a multipitch route about whether or not the climbers down below can be trusted...

I am sure it will all come out eventually....Not sure if it's a regular to Miguels - but they know who it is and are working on it.

that just sucks.
hopefully we will be able to get a description. so now it seems like we not only have to worry about our cars and the locals while we are climbing, but now we need to be concerned about the fellow climbers around us at the crag.
usually i don't worry about this since the crag is so far away from where the tourist plays...
a blue truck...did he say what state tags were on the truck?

I dont remember a mention of a blue truck -(oh nevermind just saw it in aarons thread.....) but I think a healthy level of caution is good when you are toting that much money around in gear - it would be nice to always be able to trust everyone, but well, it's just not like that....I would hate for anyone to get paranoid - we'll just have to wait and see how it all pans out.
The thing that keeps me less paranoid is that I know the people I am around at Miguels and at the Red in general are always all looking out for one another and I think it's important to keep that up. The network that was passing around info yesterday was great and it was because everyone was looking out for one another (sounds all happy and flowery I know but it's true). Because these guys are down there all the time, they keep an eye on things and were able to catch this in the middle and stop the people from getting away with all that gear.

i do agree with the healthy level of caution...i guess i've taken it for granted over the years that climbers don't steal. how many of us have left our gear out while we climb? it's much easier that way.
i usually keep my windows down and hatch up when i go into miguels to eat (so the duck can breathe), but hell, he would just sit and watch if someone got inside and stared rummaging around.
The people who work there for the summer keep all of their belongings in their tents and as far as I know, there hasn't been a problem.
it's sad...really sad.
old truck or new truck?
