The Arrowhead

Post by TradMike »

Has anyone else noticed that the top portion of Arrowhead is perfectly balanced on something that causes it to rock back in forth? We noticed it by accident. We had three people up topside and when we leaned in one direction in unison it tipped that direction. It's not going anywhere though just a little wild there for a short moment.

I stood on the Grendarme at Seneca before its submission to gravity, that thing would shake constantly.

I have been up there quite a few times, the most recent was 3 weeks ago. We had two people up there, but noticed no movement. Are you sure it moved... If so do you think it will come off....

we had five people on the top of the arrowhead during Rocktoberfest. It did not move. I think you might have just been smoking something.... Hey wait that was us smoking on the top of it....

It definitely rocks. I was the last off and before I rapped down I was able to shake it by myself. It looks like the top capstone is what is rocking. It is not falling for a long time though and I doubt anyone could move it. It's still safe to climb.

aaron,

It wobbles in the other direction (side to side). It is pretty stable along the other axis (front to back).
