Post by Wes »

Hey, I got a scanner yesterday and did a 6 hour session last night. I put a few of road trip pics up in the album, and should have my site up this week, so the rest will have a home. I scanned around 125 pics last night!!

Also, I finally got a digital camera, so no more scanning!!

Ha Ha, you get a scanner and a digital camera at the same time. It's funny how that always works out.

I'm not joking here - scan stuff! Just (carefully) slap it on the glass. Leaves, flat bugs, lint, your face, whatever! Jack the resolution up and zoom in - there's an amazing world in there, and the scanner is the portal!

mwahahahaha! I am the lizard queen! uh oh. can'ttalkcommingdown.

So, I put up some more pics. If you see one that you took, and want a photo credit, just let me know. I have a bunch that I have no idea who took. Also, if you want to comment on them, please do so.

I have wanted a digital camara for a long time. I wish I would have had one for this last year. I got an HP Photosmart 935. 5.3 MP, but I don't like how slow it is, so I might take it back and get another model/brand.

HP digicams suck, Wes. Look at Canon, the A70 or A80 - depending on how much change you want to cut loose.

oooh, I'm drooling over that shot of Hefe on Good Times. Not over the climber (sorry, Hefe) but over the climb. I'm going to lead that this Spring. I love that route.

Poor Hefe! That was the second worse belay in history! I caught the worse one too! I'm better! Nice pics, Wes. A few brought back some fun memories!

Great photos!

I'm a big fan of Nikon's digital cameras. I'm still happy with my 5 year old 990. It's taken thousands of photos, been stolen, pawned, recovered and done time in the Chicago Police lockup, X-Rayed a zillion times, dragged up multipitch and traveled with me most of the way around the world - still clicking. (although I do have one or two dead pixels - it's a problem just like for lcd monitors)

I'm happy with my 3 megapixels. Unless you are sure that you're going to be making big (like 11x17 or larger) prints, you may not need lots of megapixels. If I needed to buy a new camera, for the same price I would trade in a megapixel or two for the camera with better optics and better thought out controls.

I just took back the HP and got the cannon A-80. I think I am going to like it much better. It is a 4MP, but I think the features are better.

On a side, note, I got a 256 M SD card for the HP, that I don't think I have the recept for. So, if anyone needs one, I can let this one go cheap.

Photo-wise, I might post a few more climbing ones, but most of the ones I have left are not climbing. Once I get a site with them on it up, I will post a link for you all.
