Sat. Feb. 7, bouldering comp Oxford, OH

Post by meetVA »

Hey all, FYCI (for your climbing information)

This Saturday at the Recreational Sports Center in Oxford, OH there is going to be a bouldering competition.

I think registration is $25. For more information call the Outdoor Persuit Center (the number I don't know but if you call 513.529.8181 and ask for the OPC that works).

Oxford is only 30 minutes from Richmond, IN; an hour from Cincy or Dayton...
Not that it beats the Red but it could be fun.

yours truly, meetVA

Miami always host a great comp! I will be there providing info about the Ohio Climbers Association and the RRGCC. If you have never been there the Miami Recreational Sports Center is an incredible facility. The main wall is a Radwall with lots of natural features and a bouldering cave. There is a second bouldering cave of wood construction that was added later. They will also have their portable wall set up in the gym. Whenever I have competed in the comp I have paid extra to go swimming at the aquatic center and relax in there industrial strength hot tub to soak my wounds.

OPC number 513.529.1991.

should be a great event. like c.s. said, the university has a great recreational facility and kickin' hot tub. plus, it is the university of the "pretty people" so take a look when you are there and think to yourself...

"would that skinny, yet beautiful, person be able to even get past the first moves on the inhibitor?"

captain static: see you there! i'll be working registration in the morning so please introduce yourself to the girl with rimless glasses. then you can tell people that you have really met Virginia! har har har.

I have just started climbing again after 6 month break and still pathetically weak. Do you know what the classes will be?

Thanks

yes...and you have to be an ABS member to climb in an ABS comp (new rule) but you can sign up for that at the same time

hey every level has a different starting time if anybody cares...call them

i forgot to bring my bikini...think they'll let you into the hot tub in a t-shirt and shorts??

Could someone please post what time registration opens, when the rules will be explained, and what time the comp will end?
