That is awful. You will get it all pulled together, and make it an amazing place again.

I'm very sorry to hear of your misfortunes, Jeff. Someone has said somewhere that opportunity arises from tragedy, so stay positive. I haven't met you yet, but a good friend of mine, John Haight, does some guiding for you on occasion. He has always had nothing but good to say about you and your operation. I have no doubt that you will pull it all together and make it happen again.

I am bummed to hear about your misfortune and hope the hostel grows back into something even greater than it was. I've stopped by there while riding my bike through the red. Ya'll are super kind and had a very cozy place! Let us know if you need any help with anything. I'd be glad to donate some time and I'll bet some others on this board would too.

The bright side of this unfortunate incident is that no one was apparently injured or killed. I am sure you will find some facet of renewed strength out of this adversity.

Jeff,
I am saddened to hear about your misfortune and loss. Your picturesque cabin-business was a warm and pleasant greeting for me whenever I went to the upper Red via Pine Ridge. I think I lived a bit vicariously through your business in that you were sponsoring the climber hostel/coffee spot at the gateway to the Red. What climber wouldn't want the same.
Best of luck in your rebound and I hope you rebuild and keep your space alive and inviting.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope you can get ball rolling again real soon.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Pay attention to the level of stress that you're feeling - obviously, you're whacked right now, but as the process unfolds, there's going to be a lot of residual and new stresses. The stress-aftermath of events like these can sneak up on anyone - don't forget to make time to unwind and get away from things or talk with someone who has an objective perspective on things (pastor, shrink, old friends, etc.) if it gets overwhelming.

Good Luck! Keep us posted on your progress.

I'm so sorry to hear about this news. I've never been to your hostel, but I feel sad to hear about this tragedy all the same, and totally feel for you!

When you catch your breath, maybe you can post some items that I (we?) may be able to donate. After all, it's a climbing "community" isn't it? I'd be happy to give what I can to help out.
