Crack Attack

Post by JR »

Is there any climb in the Red more of a splitter than Crack Attack?
I have seen tons of routes at the Red and none come to mind that are more perfect.

There is another sweet looking splitter up at Indian Creek you see when you are headed over to Fibrulator/Jim's that, at least from a distance, reminds me of Fib. What's this things status?

Is it on your right when you are walking that way?
It's like a 5.10c.
You couldn't find Country Lovin'?
It starts in front of that huge boulder to the left of a fat dihedral (Faber's route) and also to the left of what you may be calling a splitter finger crack (but is actually a choss pile).

Is the fat dihedral like squeeze chimney size? If so I think I have the coords on CL. But, no the splitter I am talking about is before Fib/Jims in a similar looking corner as I recall.

SCINny,

since I haven't thought of a name for that route, if you like I can give it the name you and 512ow gave it, All In a Day's Work (if I remember correctly). Anyway, that sounds better than "Faber's Route." Otherwise, I like Cookie Monster for 2 reasons. My girlfriend at the time, who seconded the route used to bake cookies for me all the time and the Cookie Monster was the coolest Sesame Street muppet.

PS - I'm flying to ATL on the 29th and leaving on Dec 3. I'll be climbing in the Chattanooga area much of the time, so let me know if you and Michelle are heading that way.

Those are some sweet cracks. But I guess I should have said hand size splitters.

Surreal Crack. Is that thing hand size?
B3, yes that is what I am talking about!
