looking for a retired rope

does anyone have a retired rope with relatively interesting colors that I could have? I would like to make a cat scratching post for the kitten we got at Torrent.

Isn't hemp rope a little better for scratching cats? I mean, not to scratch cats WITH but for cats to scratch on?

If you can't find an old rope they sell copycat rope at Harbor Freight, Big Lots, Home Depot, and Lowes that's way cheap. I think I got a 100' purple rope at HF for about $4. I use it at work to haul stuff up ladders and scaffolding. I also practice my knots on it. Just a thought.

You should post pictures of the kitten.

Rope? What do you use ropes for?

Actually, I might have a cool red one that I haven't used for awhile. Most of my ropes get trashed within a year, but I have had this one for a few years. And my "good" rope is still looking OK. Guess that is one good thing about bouldering.

Cool. It is one of those ropes where you can say "Want to hear a cool story about what happened to this rope" while people are climbing on it. Which is cool for freaking people out. Not as cool as leading on the coreshot side so they can TR through the good side though.
