if you have ever done or dreamed of doing serious mountaineering check out my friend mark's site. It is a trip report of his successful ascent of Denali.
The site is alot more interesting than just pictures and a story. It has a database full of interesting info about the trip and tools to let you play with it.
you can see how much they thought they would spend vs how much it actually cost.
or
you can see the breakdown of calories and weight per meal.
or
you can check out their intended timeframe vs. how long it really took them.
the interactive nature of the site really makes you appreciate the logistical nightmare that big mountains bring. i can imagine the site being very useful if someone was planning a similar trip.

big mountain badness
I am planning on a trip next year to one of 3 locations:
-Denali in Alaska 8)
-Illimani in Bolivia
-Chimborazo in Ecuador
If you are interested in additional information, PM me. Trip costs range from around $2,500 - $4,500 depending upon which one you choose. This does not include airfare or gear.
If you haven't been up high, it is incredible. Did Kilimanjaro last year and enjoyed the elevation but the trip was basically a 43 mile high altitude hike. Doing the Machame route, there was about 3,000' elevation gain up class 4 which was cool.
