RRGCC Meeting Tonight

I was climbing at Rocksport Tuesday evening and saw a sign announcing a RRGCC meeting scheduled for tonight at 8:00. I believe it will be to discuss current issues surrounding the Murray Property, access concerns, and just a general information sharing session. If anyone knows differently, please provide an update.

I just wanted to let folks know this is scheduled and that if you are in the area, please stop by and support the RRGCC by your involvement.

Directions to Rocksport Climbing Center are:

In Louisville, take I-64 to Blankenbaker Parkway. Take this south through 3 stop lights. The 3rd light is Plantside Drive. Turn right onto Plantside. Go through 1 stop sign and then at the top of the hill, Rocksport is on the right.

Come early and climb and then participate in the meeting.

WTF!! the RRGCC is holding meetings in Louisville? Why not hold them in St. Louis.........LOL meetings about the Red being held a hundred miles from the Red.......Charlie oil has got you guys spooked....If it was me I'd have the meetings in Robert Stampers front yard!!!!

It may well be someone from the coalition that is having an informal meeting just to bring interested souls up to date on what's going on. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to get down to the Red when the other meetings were held.

I plan on being there and will provide a summary of what was talked about, mentioned, argued, etc.

Geoff,

Call the gym prior to going. I am interested in who is holding the meeting! To the best of my knowledge, there is no meeting scheduled. I put a call into Shannon and I am waiting on her response.

Please double check the flier to see if it is an old one or who is actually holding the meeting.

Gretchen,

I just called the gym and they mentioned that it was arranged through Kelly Hughes. They were not sure whether she would be there tonight or not. The flier states that access issues and the future of climbing in Kentucky will be discussed.

I'll be there and will post an update after the meeting.

Hope to see lots of folks there thus showing the support to the coalition.

Cool, KElly is our new on-the-road spokesperson! SHe must be kicking off her road show.

How's the weather? I know it's pretty crappy in Cincy. I hope it's a go!!! Thanks for checking into that GWG, I just didn't want people showing up and there not being a meeting!

This is no way for the new "On-the-road" spokesperson to start. The meeting was canceled at 7:00 pm: one hour before the meeting was to start. I got there around 7:30 and there were several people who had come for the meeting.

When I asked what was up, the only explanation I received was that someone called and canceled the meeting and would reschedule it at a later date.

I just hope there is this level of response from the climbing community when it is rescheduled.

The RRGCC very rarely cancels a meeting. Plus this is a volunteer based operation! Do you want to give up your personal time to hit the road?
