If the US lifted sanctions against Cuba think of what all the those Cubans would gain. McDonalds on every corner, a Holiday Inn at every scenic overlook, giant cruise ships loaded with Americans stomping ashore to seek the 'new and exotic' culture (same experience Americans could recieve at any interstate exit U.S.A.), acres of pristine land destroyed in the name of capitalism, over priced Cuban cigars at every Gas-a-Go Mart in the states.......a great place indeed.

Hundreds of US companies are poised for their own Bay of Pigs Invasion if the US lifted sanctions against Cuba. While this might be good for the country, it might be another case of the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Who knows? At any rate, I'd get to Cuba ASAP if I were you canadaclimbergirl!
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

You might want to check www.gripped.com. I'm not sure whose posting on there these days, but I'm pretty sure there's people there who could give you first hand info. Some 'friends' had an awesome time there last christmas. The bastards.
Never mess with a local!
