Michelle and I spent our first day climbing at Shaking Rock Boulders just outside of Athens, GA. Small place but enough for a good day of fun. Plenty of mantels and squeezer problems.
I did end up finding a kick ass 35 foot roof crack (see picture below) which I ended up soloing with my pack on! Michelle did an extreme highball too which I got a good shot of (see below).

Yea, we got really messed up and put on crazy costumes then climbed in the Land of Giant Trees. I thought I was trippin' until I saw the pics!
Today we climbed at Tallulah Gorge, GA. Anyone ever climb there?
It's this beautiful and intimidating gorge in Georgia. Many multi-pitch routes. Did Mescaline Daydream then Flying Frogs. I didn't feel too "at home" with the severe exposure, granite rock, and insane rapids preventing any form of communication other than tugging on the rope and screaming at the top of my lungs "ON BELAY!" Every once in awhile, Trad climbing scares me. Today was one of those days. Tip-toeing around on slippery granite looking for not so obvious pro a few hundred feet from the lowest point is a good reality check for my "hardman" attitude.
Tomorrow it's off to Boat Rock, GA for some "low commitment" pebble wrestling. Ahhhhh.....soft landings and hard moves.

Exposure is my favorite part of multipitch. It's just not that good at the Red. I do like adequate pro tho. The defining moment in my life was sitting atop a 1000 foot cliff at Canyon de Chelly. Such a shame the Navaho wont let anyone climb there.
